Molly Merz has been a Guest at TerraLuna since July, 2025 and we'd like to get to know her a bit better.
What brought you to Pilates and how long you've been practicing?
I'm very new to Pilates. I've been practicing for less than a year. I started with some Mat Pilates classes, then saw TerraLuna featured in the Hamiltonian Magazine and signed up for my free class. After meeting Lynelle and practicing on the Reformer, I am hooked!
Do you have a goal you'd like to share that Pilates helped you/is helping you obtain?
Centering myself and focusing on my own well-being is something I'm trying to be intentional about during this season. TerraLuna and Pilates have really helped me to feel stronger, centered, balanced and focused.
What class(es) have you/do you take? Do you have a favorite class?
I love the Reformer. StretchLates is a great evening class after a tough day. I'm really looking forward to trying a full Jump class! I've also enjoyed some of the spicier challenges Lynelle gives us during classes. The humbling nature of some of those challenges really give me something to strive for!
What is an activity which was difficult for you in the beginning but is now easier?
Really almost everything. I love the fact that Pilates reinforces the fact that new things can be hard, but with practice we grow stronger.
Tell us about props! Favorite and least favorite.
Box work is something I enjoy, I love when we use the jump board. The magic ring
is my nemesis :)
If you had a "Signature Activity" what would it be?
My signature activity during this season is spending time with my husband at my kids' events/activities. When I can couple that with time outdoors, I'm really in my happy place :)
How do you define "wellness"?
I think wellness comes when we are intentional about our needs, when we nourish our bodies/minds, and when we give ourselves grace.
Would you share a little-known fact about yourself?
I can't think of anything fun for this one :)
Finally, what is one food/drink you cannot live without?
A warm cup of coffee!
Thank you Molly, for sharing a bit about yourself and your Pilates journey!
