Connie Mehlman has been a Guest at TerraLuna since May, 2024 and we'd like to get to know her a bit better.
What brought you to Pilates and how long you've been practicing?
After retiring I was looking for a new exercise program where I felt comfortable while working on myself. I have been practicing for a little more than a year. I really enjoy the atmosphere at TerraLuna and never feel judged for being myself. The staff are more than willing to meet you where you are.
Do you have a goal you'd like to share that Pilates helped you/is helping you obtain?
My main goal with Pilates was and is to help with back issues and tone. Through commitment, exercise and diet I have also been successful in losing weight over this past year. I feel the best I have felt in 10 years
What class(es) have you/do you take? Do you have a favorite class?
I have taken Beginner, Reformer, Athletic Reformer, Cycling/Barre and Jump. My favorite class is Reformer.
What is an activity which was difficult for you in the beginning but is now easier?
Probably standing on the Reformer was the most difficult for me but with the support of staff I have overcome the fear.
Tell us about props! Favorite and least favorite.
My favorite prop by far is the half ball, and my least is the ring
If you had a "Signature Activity" what would it be?
I pride myself on strength and really enjoy the upper body workout. Love a good tricep press.
How do you define "wellness"?
Making the best choices for me with a combination of diet, exercise and realizing the importance of taking time for self.
Would you share a little-known fact about yourself?
Married my high school sweetheart and will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary in November.
Finally, what is one food/drink you cannot live without?
Hands down an occasional ice cream.
