Guest Spotlight: Meet Cheryl

Cheryl Creach has been a Guest at TerraLuna since April, 2024 and we'd like to get to know her a bit better.


What brought you to Pilates and how long you've been practicing?

Initially I came to Pilates to help with strengthen my core and balance.  Having had two falls resulting in CT scans within 6 months I knew I needed help.  My physician ordered several PT sessions.  After those my grand-daughter and Shari Botts were encouraging me to try Pilates.  I began in April of 2024 and am still active today.


Do you have a goal you'd like to share that Pilates helped you/is helping you obtain?

My goal is to be able to do a plank with arms straight, lower myself to my elbows and turn to the side extending my arm straight in the air without putting my knees down. 


What class(es) have you/do you take? Do you have a favorite class?

I take Athletic Reformer and Barre.  I love/hate them equally.  


What is an activity which was difficult for you in the beginning but is now easier?

Reformer was a totally new experience for me so yes it seemed difficult.  Lynelle is such a great instructor and helped me so much through the Beginner class, and then Reformer. When the expanded Studio opened and a free class was offered, I decided to try Barre.  For me it is the ultimate test of my limits.  Nancy is very encouraging in my Athletic Reformer and Barre classes and pushes me to improve.


Tell us about props! Favorite and least favorite.

I do like the free weights.  The ring and the squishey ball can be a challenge.


If you had a "Signature Activity" what would it be?

I don’t think I can claim anything as my Signature Activity but I can say I try to come to each class ready to try whatever activity is thrown at me.  It amazing all the different things the instructors have us do.


How do you define "wellness"?

To me wellness is physical, emotional and spiritual well being.  Certainly TerraLuna is such a welcoming group of women and I have enjoyed being a part of the community of TerraLuna.


Would you share a little-known fact about yourself?

I once attended a Phish concert with my son.


Finally, what is one food/drink you cannot live without?

I love breads!  I don’t eat them much anymore but I do love making all sorts of yeast breads.
