Lindsay Miller has been a Guest at TerraLuna since August, 2022 and we'd like to get to know her a bit better.
What brought you to Pilates and how long you've been practicing?
I have done Mat Pilates off and on since college. My first experience with Reformer Pilates is with TerraLuna - I have been practicing for a little over a year! I had just resigned from my career as a librarian the exact month TerraLuna opened. It was a divine intervention because I was looking for something to fill a void and bring me new goals - and Lynelle and TerraLuna provided that and more!
Do you have a goal you'd like to share that Pilates helped you/is helping you obtain?
My goal with Pilates is healthy aging and injury prevention. My core had become very weak after having children. Pilates has been an amazing way to keep my body strong and balanced with a strong core!
What class(es) have you/do you take? Do you have a favorite class?
I am a 10am or 11am Reformer attendee (the exception being summer when my kids are out of school). I also enjoy Athletic Reformer and the occasional Jump class.
What is an activity which was difficult for you in the beginning but is now easier?
Tic toc is a move that I've improved on as my core got stronger. I always struggle with any activity that involves looking down at the springs. I am getting better! My big goal for myself in my second Pilates year is to conquer the Tendon Stretch!
Tell us about props! Favorite and least favorite.
I love the magic ring and hand weights! I really dislike laying on the purple half foam roller. Not my thing - ouch!
If you had a "Signature Activity" what would it be?
Leg circles with feet in straps or full body coordination. I love symmetrical movements!
How do you define "wellness"?
Wellness to me is properly fueling, challenging and resting your body, mind and spirit.
Would you share a little-known fact about yourself?
I used to have an online baby naming service. Expecting parents who couldn't choose a name would send me answers to a survey I designed and I would send them a list of suggested names back that fit their parameters! It was a fun little hobby!
Finally, what is one food/drink you cannot live without?
It's probably guacamole! Mexican food is life.
Thank you Lindsay, for sharing a bit about yourself and your Pilates journey!
