Guest Spotlight: Meet Julie

Julie Rentschler has been a Guest at TerraLuna since August, 2022 and we'd like to get to know her a bit better.

What brought you to Pilates and how long you've been practicing?

I have been practicing since last August!  Carol Harp told me about Terra Luna and how much she loved it, so I decided to give it a try! I was hooked from day 1!

Do you have a goal you'd like to share that Pilates helped you/is helping you obtain?

I have wanted to strengthen my core and upper body.  It has been amazing how much stronger I have gotten since starting.  I have never really liked “ group” exercise classes in the past. The environment at Terra Luna ( and specifically Lynelle ) is so positive! I am enjoying my progress without ever feeling discouraged!  It has become more than exercise, but an entire positive community!

What class(es) have you/do you take? Do you have a favorite class?

I am in the beginner reformer basically because the times fit in my schedule. Lynelle continues to challenge everyone in each class according to their skill level. My favorite class, hands down, is “Feisty Friday”. It is so much fun and a great group each Friday!

What is an activity which was difficult for you in the beginning but is now easier?

Hand straps have always been difficult for me because of limited range of motion in my shoulders. I am so pleased with my increasing strength and movement.

Tell us about props! Favorite and least favorite.

I love the squishy ball and the ring. Both really help me while I was recovery from a minor knee surgery!

If you had a "Signature Activity" what would it be?

My favorite activity is C curve with leg extensions. Also, any movement that strengthens my back.

How do you define "wellness"?

Healthy eating and lifestyle, but also curating a life of positivity and peace!  Lynelle is a great example of this mindset and fosters this in everyone who is enjoying the classes.

Would you share a little-known fact about yourself?

Most people don’t know that I graduated from a small all women’s college in Virginia and studied psychology.

Finally, what is one food/drink you cannot live without?

Pasta-any way!

Thank you Julie, for sharing a bit about yourself and your Pilates journey!
