Private Pilates

Private Lessons are ideal if you would like to eliminate the distraction of other Guests and ensure the dedicated attention of the instructor who will focus on your specific needs and goals. Private Lessons also allow for extra time to establish a strong foundation of Pilates principles and techniques.

Safety and solid technique are of paramount importance in each and every Pilates class but if you have specific health or movement challenges and would feel more comfortable having extra support and assistance as you begin your Pilates journey, Private Lessons may be a good fit for you.

Private Lessons are also great for those returning to their practice of Pilates after a break. We can review specific techniques, terminology, and cues.

Private Lesson are available as a single purchase or in a discounted package.

Group Reformer Class

If you have done Pilates in the past or, more recently, but at a different studio, if you are already physically active with a decent sense of body awareness, or, if you like to learn on the fly and are excited to jump right in and start moving, Group Reformer Class is for you.

You will be surrounded by other Guests in a typical class with normal class pacing and a full range of Pilates activities. You will be able to look around to see what other movers are doing and you will quickly get the hang of terminology and cues.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is an exercise program originally developed by Joseph Pilates. Pilates participants focus on developing strength and flexibility through the art of controlled movement.

Pilates is a series of activities guided by a certified instructor who ensures proper technique and provides an enjoyable and safe workout designed to improve core strength, tone and lengthen the muscles, increase flexibility, and improve balance.

Some Pilates studios offer mat classes which take place on a yoga mat on the floor. TerraLuna is special in that we offer only Reformer Pilates.

The Reformer is the piece of equipment featuring a sliding platform called a carriage and a series of springs and pulleys attached to straps for the hands or feet. Reformer Pilates allows for a wide range of exercises that stretch, strengthen and support the body.

Pilates can be modified to accommodate most body types and health concerns. Many of the activities are done lying down and are accessible for all ages, fitness levels, and many health challenges such as joint pain or previous injuries.

The TerraLuna Difference

Unlike other studios which require an expensive purchase of several private introductory lessons, TerraLuna believes in letting you try before you buy.

We provide three options so that you can decide what is the most comfortable and convenient way we can acquaint you with the Reformer, key concepts, and some basic terminology.

We are always here to answer your questions and provide support and encouragement so feel free to give us a call or simply stop by the studio and say hello.
